Critical Role Season Four Introduces the Fighters Group

Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master the talented storyteller has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a wide array of personalities, and a thrilling plot showcasing celestial beings, fiends, and dark forces expanding in power within the city.

Note: Revealing details for the latest installment of Campaign 4 follow below.

The Warrior Group Introduced

Episode 3 concluded with a major cliffhanger and revealed the premier party of heroes who will split off from the main group to begin their own adventure, distinct from the remaining groups.

The Soldiers table features Teor (played by Travis Willingham), Thimble (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam), and Kattigan (the actor).

Dividing the Cast

With an extensive roster, it was obvious from the beginning that maintaining everyone at one table would be impossible.

That’s why, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, intertwining the personal journeys before dividing into three smaller tables: Warriors, Schemers, and Questers.

The Nature of the Warrior Group

As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who prefer a typically action-packed battle-oriented story mode where non-violent answers are rare.

Upon first impression, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander might appear unsuited, but the events of episode 3 demonstrate why these five characters are best suited for the Soldiers table.

Why They Must Go

First, the group knows exactly where to proceed after a brutal first encounter with the enemy group.

Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose demise initiated the narrative’s action—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, entering the hidden lair, assaulting the rogue, and swiping all the powerful objects to sell off.

Casimir then paid off his obligations and ran away to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd close behind.

Character Drivers

Moreover, each character has a specific drive to exit the urban setting:

  • Thimble, as the close ally and trusted friend, seeks vengeance.
  • The knowledgeable figure is familiar with Timmony and cautions that it is a dangerous place.
  • The warrior and The healer, having resisted his house’s orders to eliminate Teor and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
  • However, their reputation as prominent individuals in the powerful family could enable the party enter locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
  • Moreover, The grateful character vowed a life debt to Wicander for his salvation and will now follow him wherever.

Pursued by Authorities

In addition, all of them are wanted by the authorities that govern the setting for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind too risky:

  • The agile adventurer and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
  • The strong figure and The healer turned against House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
  • Teor is wanted dead by House Halovar.

This leaves them few options but to journey toward the remote area in search of the antagonist.

What’s Next?

According to the recent installment’s post-show segment, we find out that the Soldiers table will be absent next week, leaving the remaining eight participants to round up the Questers and Planners tables.

Fans can anticipate discovering which adventurers will be in which group in Campaign 4’s concluding setup installment, streaming live on the upcoming Thursday.
