Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been won on hardcourt
A resurgent Medvedev won his maiden title for nearly 30 months with a win over opponent Moutet in the tournament title decider.
Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has had a difficult period, managing just one match at the Grand Slams and experiencing a setback at the New York tournament.
Medvedev's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serving in specific - caused him falling of the world's top 10 and ultimately parting ways with former mentor his previous coach.
Currently training with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily improved in the last few weeks - culminating in a closely contested competitive victory over challenger Moutet.
This represents the player's initial championship after the Rome competition and maiden on a hardcourt from that period of 2023.
Victory also means the Russian has achieved twenty-one championships at twenty-one distinct events.
"For the first time I'm at a event with my two daughters simultaneously, so to win a championship is especially meaningful," said ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in dedication of my child my daughter, because the maiden victory I got when my child my daughter was born was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his previous six title deciders, featuring in the German tournament in the past months.
His counter-punching play style and recurring outbursts on the tennis court had led observers to question if his capacity to perform at the elite level was concluded.
Yet the 29-year-old has altered his approach in recent weeks, striving to approach the net and perform positively, supported by an enhanced serve.
Medvedev fought back from a deficit in the opening set against the difficult Moutet, securing 4 of the final five exchanges to go ahead.
The pair exchanged service breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, striving for his first tour championship, took control to push for a decider.
He rescued 4 early-game break points in a competitive third set before the Russian won the break to 15 to secure the win.
Appropriately, Medvedev secured victory with a rally at the net area, with the Frenchman unable to control a return after a lengthy match.
